TRANSCRIPT:

{hater and peepers are in a time orbble, and hater is racing along at full speed while peepers, unable to keep up, whirls around the orbble, yelling, distraught, as he does.}

HATER: back to the present! back to the present!!

PEEPERS: WHOAOAOAOAOAOAOAOAA!!!

{hater skids to a stop, and peepers is left to tumble until he loses his momentum.}

HATER: WAIT!! IS THAT...????

PEEPERS: WuoWoWOWwoOOough OOMPH!!

{hater presses his lack of a nose against the orbble's wall. beyond it, there's a stage, spewing smoke from machines into the crowd surrounding it. there's a banner hanging above it, reading "NOzN", stylized like the nine inch nails logo.}

HATER: IT IS!! IT'S...IT'S THE NINETY-OUNCE NIHILISTS POST-DEMOLITION GHOST-PLANET TOUR!!!

{hater continues to gush about the particular album he owns that contains the setlist they did for this particular tour, and says he knows all the words. peepers is picking himself up off the floor.}

PEEPERS: oogh...wh... that old band? hold on. when exactly did this tour happen?

HATER: oh, not too long ago. only a few...

(pause)

HATER:...hundred years ago

PEEPERS: because if ninety-ounce nihilists broke up in... wait. DID YOU SAY HUNDRED???

HATER, talking over peepers: SHH SHH SHUT UP PEEPERS, IT'S STARTING!

{focus turns to major threat on the stage, holding the microphone and introducing himself. to his left is somebody with a big hat and an equally big electric guitar.}

MAJOR THREAT: how's it going tonight? feeling doomed? well, get used to it!! we are NINETY-OUNCE NIHILISTS!!!

HATER, offscreen: hey, who's the guitarist?

PEEPERS, offscreen: i don't know, sir...

HATER: never seen him on the poster...

{the guitarist tilts his head up to reveal his identity... it's wander! wander in guyliner and a leather jacket!}

HATER: wait... NO!!!

PEEPERS: wait, WHAT??

{hater gapes down at the stage, croaking in shock and disgust. peepers looks down in shock.}

PEEPERS: wh- how- that can't be right!... that makes him how old??

{wander starts to play his guitar, major threat starts to sing.}

HATER: all this time. that filthy riff...i can't believe it...

PEEPERS: neither can i, sir...

Helicopter Parent Cody AU where Cody finds out that Fox is dating. He finds this out by finding a hickey on Fox.

He is fine with it, really, especially when Fox bats his eyes and tells him that he's a good man and she's a good woman, Kote, they are so nice and they give me so many nice things and they let me take naps and they give me kisses and they tell me how lovely I am and it's so so great

Bail gets a visitor later that day, when Cody comes to his office, puts his hands on Bail's desk and says "do you want to form an alliance with me?"

It's wild to me that I had heard of the prime Kirk/Spock content in various TOS episodes long before I saw them, but had never heard of what IMO is the shippiest moment of all thus far, in an interestingly O_o goddamn I do not want whatever you two have but you do you?? holy shit though what a moment way.

I'm of course referring to the otherwise rather mid episode "Requiem for Methuselah," in which Kirk has an underwritten love affair with a clueless woman whose various secrets have to be discovered before her inevitable death.

At one point in this relationship, her.......uh, guardian??? sort of???????? had Spock play the piano while she and Kirk waltzed, which (in-story) Spock did perfectly while somehow managing to silently exude even more intensity than usual. After the plot (and her life) were over, we end not with the usual cheerful bit of snark on the bridge that ends most episodes, but with a weary Kirk falling asleep with his head on his arms and Spock hovering not for away. McCoy exposits the last bit of detail and then goes on an unprompted and honestly pretty viciously racist speech about how Spock, unlike Kirk, will never suffer from the joys and travails of love because of his inherent lack of feeling as a Vulcan. The speech is longer than usual and just really mean-spirited as McCoy waxes rhapsodic about all the aspects of passionate true love that Spock will not and cannot experience as a Vulcan before he just leaves.

Spock then turns to look at Kirk, and now just bleeding intensity, takes a few slow, deliberate steps towards the sleeping Kirk, lays his hand against Kirk's cheek and neck, and then very obviously mind melds with the sleeping Kirk while murmuring, "Forget."

Is this healthy respectful behavior that honors Kirk's autonomy? No, obviously. Is it god-tier repressed homoerotic passion between two people who should probably just work their issues out and stop inflicting themselves on anyone else? Yes.

Fox Knows:

Drabble undercut!

He doesn’t know what it is when he wakes up.

Something is different.

Fox knows that. But what?

He lifts his hand to pinch the bridge of his nose (a gestures he’s only seen before when people seem stressed) and misjudges the distance slightly and pokes himself in the eyes.

Then he realises.

HE did that.

He made his arm move. That’s, new.

It’s a good job he was already on the floor, otherwise his legs would have given way from shock.

Or at lest he thinks so. (That’s a thing, right?)

For now he leans against the wall and thinks.

It doesn’t take long before tears start rolling down his cheeks.

He doesn’t stop them.

Even if he knows that he should stop them and move.

He just, sits.

It’s the first choice he’s ever made, he realises.

To just sit and digest what’s just happened.

To digest the fact that he’s, finally, free.

Eventually he’ll have to get up.

Get back to the guard or talk to his batch mates and explain what happened to him or tell all of the commanders about the chips or confront the chancellor or help the Jedi before it’s too late (can he trust the Jedi-) or runaway or join another battalion or-

Later, he thinks.

For now, he’ll sit. Think about his new found freedom. What the means for him. What that means to him.

He knows later he’ll have to deal with the aftermath, help the other clones before they end up like he was.

He knows.

But for now, he sits.

He waits and marvels at the fact he made the decision to.

For now, the most important thing to Fox is this moment. And making it last a little bit longer.

Because right now he’s ,finally, free.

Some more Species Swap AU thoughts:

Reactions to the transformations vary between clones. The 104th and 327th Star Corps being the two battalions that most quickly come to accept the change since it helps give them a new perspective of their respective generals (the Wolfpack especially takes it in stride). The least accepting of these changes are the Kamino Guard (who are rightfully upset about becoming the same species as the people who treat them as nothing more than products) and the Coruscant Guard (who are now easily identifiable and cannot hide behind the set of rules that kept them safe on planet).

The changes also vary in terms of how much they put a strain on the clones's body. It's like a second puberty of sorts (that come with very impactful biological changes in some cases), so it makes sense that depending on what species they're turning into it'd be either easier or harder on them.

While a great majority of the 501st become Togrutas due to their close connection to Ahsoka, a couple of troopers become completely different species depending on certain experiences they've had. Two examples are Tango Squad who turn into Geonosians, and Dogma who turns into a Besalisk.

The Coruscant Guard is such a mix of other species that it becomes a bit of a struggle attending to everyone's specific dietary and other such basic needs. However due, to their unique circumstances, the people of Coruscant seem to begin viewing them in a different light. The Guardsmen don't entirely trust this change of heart (in their eyes becoming a different species doesn't make them less clones and while their DNA is mutating accordingly they are all still tied as plausibly related to one another despite being completely different species, so suddenly people deciding they aren't meatdroids after all just because they look like them is a little suspicious to them), but try to be polite since there are less attacks on clones occurring in the streets. Best not look a gift bantha in the mouth and all that...

The Coruscant Guard Commanders find the changes to be very unpredictable, since just something as simple as a one-off encounter can trigger the change (Fox only ever met the Amaran representative from Naboo once and ended up turning into an Amaran himself, which is rather ironic considering his chosen name). As such they try to keep Shinies away from from Non-Human species in the hopes of preserving a few unaltered clones so that they can find some kind of a cure. This unfortunately doesn't seem to work because the Shinies begin to imprint on humans who have hybrid genes from generations past.

It's been noticed that the only clones not affected by the changes are the tubies and the young cadets. Once they hit puberty they become susceptible to the changes, which is the opposite of what usually happens in disease outbreaks.
